Abstract

Odnos borilačkih sportova i religije kao dva društvena fenomena fokusira se na naglašavanje sličnosti ili međusobnih različitosti. Iako su suvremeni borilački sportovi profanizirani, velik broj njih je izvorno vezan za sakralnu kulturu te se sastoji od simbola i rituala povezanih sa religijskim izvorištem. U ovom istraživanju provedeno je 16 polustrukturiranih intervjua sa aktivnim i bivšim, profesionalnim i amaterskim sportašima iz različitih borilačkih sportova u hrvatskom društvu. Analiziranjem stavova, iskustva i pogleda ispitanika došli smo do zaključka da akteri borilačkih sportova površno poznaju sakralnu povijest nastanka pojedinih borilačkih vještina, međutim gledaju na borilačke sportove i vještine samo kao sportove uz poštovanje prema sakralnom utjecaju.

Abstract (english)

The relationship between martial arts and religion as two social phenomena focuses on emphasizing similarities or mutual differences. Although modern martial arts are profaned, a large number of them are originaly associated with sacred culture and consist of symbols and rituals associated with a religious source. 16 semi-structured interviews were conducted with active and former, professional and amateur athletes from various martial arts in croatian society. Analyzing the attitudes, experiences and views on the relationship between martial arts and religion in croatian society, we came to conclusion that martial arts athletes superficially know the sacred history of certain martial arts, but look at martial arts and skills only as sports with respect for sacred influence.
