Abstract

Cilj ovog rada bio je analizirati 226 glagola kretanja u engleskom jeziku u kontekstu kineziologije, i to s obzirom na tri kriterija. Prvi kriterij dijeli glagole u kategorije uzimajući u obzir sljedeće: a) označava li glagol istovremeno pomicanje različitih dijelova tijela s ciljem savladavanja prostora, b) označava li glagol pomicanje pojedinih dijelova tijela do određenog položaja. Drugi kriterij se odnosio na kategorizaciju s obzirom na to radi li se o glagolu koji označava nekonvencionalnu kineziološku aktivnost ili specifično motoričko znanje, tj. element tehnike u nekom sportu, a treći na složenost glagola, i to prema broju baza/riječi od kojih se glagol sastoji. Istraživanjem su potvrđene sve tri postavljene hipoteze. Naime, jednostavni glagoli češće od složenih označavaju i pokrete i kretnje, dok se glagoli koji označavaju obje navedene kategorije češće rabe za označavanje nekonvencionalnih kinezioloških aktivnosti, a ne specifičnih motoričkih znanja.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this final paper was to analyse 226 verbs of motion from the context of kinesiology with regard to three criteria. The first criterion divided the verbs into categories taking into account the following: a) does the verb designate simultaneous movement of various bodily parts with the goal to cover space or b) does the verb designate the movement of certain bodily parts to assume a ceratin position. The second criterion addressed the categorisation into verbs designating non-conventional kinesiological activities on the one hand and the verbs designating a specific motor skill, i.e. a technical element in a particular sport, on the other, whereas the third criterion referred to the verb complexity taking into account the number of words/terms comprising the verb under consideration. The research confirmed all three hypotheses set. Namely, simple verbs more frequently than the compex ones designate both motion and movement, while the verbs designating both these categories are more frequently used to designate non-conventional kinesiological activities than specific motor skills.
