Istraživanje je provedeno anketnim upitnikom za ciljanu populaciju i nije bio javan. Ciljana populacija obuhvatila je učenike viših razreda osnovne škole „Braća Glumac“ iz Lastova i njihove roditelje. Anketni upitnik sastojao se od dvaju dijelova, prvi je dio bio namijenjen učenicima, a drugi dio roditeljima. Učenici su odgovarali na 18 pitanja, a roditelji na 6 pitanja koja su međusobno bila različita. U ispitivanju je sudjelovalo 20 učenika, od kojih je 12 pripadnika muškoga spola i 8 pripadnica ženskoga spola. Na otoku Lastovu postoje četiri naselja - Zaklopatica, Ubli, Skrivena Luka i Lastovo koje se jedino ne nalazi na obali mora. Iz naselja Skrivena Luka nema učenika koji pohađaju više razrede osnovne škole "Braća Glumac" na Lastovu. Od preostale tri lokacije, Zaklopatica ima 3 učenika, Ubli također ima 3 učenika, a najveći je broj, 14 učenika, iz Lastova.
Deskriptivnom statistikom i frekvencijom čestica analizirala su se mišljenja i stavovi ispitanika koji žive na otoku Lastovu vezano uz sportove na vodi. Svi ispitanici, odnosno učenici (dalje: ispitanici) i njihovi roditelji (dalje: roditelji ispitanika), u potpunosti podupiru ideju o razvoju sportova na vodi na otoku (100 %) te bi se većina ispitanika uključila na takve aktivnosti (70 %), kada bi za to imali mogućnosti. Također bi roditelji ispitanika u velikom postotku od 85% uključili svoju djecu na sportove na vodi. Više od polovine ispitanika (65 %) bi se učlanilo u klub sportova na vodi da takav isti i postoji, a 95% ispitanika podupire ideju o osnivanju takvog kluba. Ispitanici su u većem broju bili upoznati s terminom sportova na vodi (60 %), no 70 % ispitanika nema nikakvog dosadašnjeg iskustva i znanja s jedrenjem u malim klasama, jedrenjem na dasci i kajakom. Sport koji je odabrala većina ispitanika bilo je jedrenje na dasci (30 %) , a slijede ga jedrenje u malim klasama (20 %) i kajak (5 %). Niječni je odgovor dalo 5 ispitanika, koji se uopće ne žele uključiti u sportove na vodi, a 4 ispitanika (20 %) žele biti uključeni u sve navedene sportove. Roditelji ispitanika su se u potpunosti izjasnili (100 %) kako bi ovakva vrsta aktivnosti i sporta uvelike poboljšala sliku sporta na Lastovu.
Abstract (english) The aim of this graduation thesis was to examine the attitudes and opinions of students attending the Braća Glumac elementary school on the island of Lastovo and their parents about the current state and potential development of water sports in their home environment.
The research was conducted with a survey questionnaire for the target population and was not public. The target population included students of the upper grades of the "Braća Glumac" elementary school from Lastovo and their parents. The questionnaire consisted of two parts, the first part was intended for students and the second part for parents. Students answered 18 questions, and parents answered 6 questions that were different from each other. 20 students participated in the examination, of which 12 were male and 8 were female. There are four settlements on the island of Lastovo - Zaklopatica, Ubli, Skrivena Luka and Lastovo, which is the only one not located on the coast. There are no students from the village of Skrivena Luka who attend the upper grades of the "Braća Glumac" elementary school in Lastovo. Of the remaining three locations, Zaklopatica has 3 students, Ubli also has 3 students, and the largest number, 14 students, is from Lastovo.
Descriptive statistics and particle frequency were used to analyze the opinions and attitudes of respondents living on the island of Lastovo regarding water sports. All respondents, i.e. students (hereinafter: respondents) and their parents (hereinafter: parents of respondents), fully support the idea of developing water sports on the island (100 %), and the majority of respondents would participate in such activities (70 %), when would have the opportunity to do so. Also, a large percentage of 85% of respondents' parents would include their children in water sports. More than half of respondents (65%) would join a water sports club if such a club existed, and 95% of respondents support the idea of establishing such a club. Most of the respondents were familiar with the term water sports (60%), but 70% of the respondents have no previous experience and knowledge with sailing in small classes, windsurfing and kayaking. The sport chosen by the majority of respondents was windsurfing (30%), followed by sailing in small classes (20%) and kayaking (5%). A negative answer was given by 5 respondents, who do not want to be involved in water sports at all, and 4 respondents (20%) want to be involved in all mentioned sports. The parents of the respondents fully declared (100%) that this type of activity and sport would greatly improve the image of sport in Lastovo.
