Abstract
Prosječni rezultati testiranih igrača u varijablama: visina (182.17 cm), težina (97.9 kg), sprint 40 jardi (5.61 sec), short shuttle (5.10 sec), skok u dalj s mjesta (230.95 cm), potisak s prsa (8.7 pon). Testiranjem američkih i europskih igrača došli smo do statistički značajnih razlika u određenim testovima.

Parallel abstract (English)
The objective of the research was to determine the differences in physical preparedness of American and European American football players, while the secondary objective of this paper was to determine the differences between two types of player position. The sample of subjects is comprised of 70 active American football players: 35 players from the American continent and 35 players from the European continent. Two sets of tests were used in this research. The first set includes the variables for measuring morphological characteristics longitudinal skeletal dimension (the body height) and the body mass, and the second set includes the variables for measuring the explosive power and variables for measuring the repetitive power. The used tests are standardized and they have been used in American football for a number of years for determination of physical preparedness of the players in the NFL (National Football League). Mean results of the tested players by variables are as follows: height (182.17cm), weight (97.9 kg), 40 yard dash (5.61sec), short shuttle (5.10 sec), horizontal jump (230.95cm), bench press (8.7 reps). Testing of the American and European players was yielded statistically significant differences in certain tests. The obtained results show that the American players on average perform 11.3 repetitions more in the repetitive power test; in the 40 yard dash test, the American players perform on average better by 2.65 seconds; in the short shuttle test, the American players were also on average better by 2.08 seconds. In the variables measuring the explosive power in jumping and in the basic morphological characteristics no significant differences were identified. Statistically significant differences determined in the research point to the segments of physical preparedness in which the European players have poorer results and which should be brought into focus in order to be improved.
