Abstract (english) Swimming is a basic sport and an often-practiced form of a physical activity in the world. From the very beginning of competitive swimming to the present day there is a progressive trend in growing results. Freestyle, as one of the four basic swimming styles, has undergone many changes in swimming strokes and rules and is therefore the subject of this thesis.
Today we are witnessing different styles of freestyle techniques. Swimmers strive to have an optimal hydrodynamic position during the coordination of arms, legs and breathing, with the aim to swim as quickly as possible with as little energy consumption as possible. Styles are conditioned by an anthropological status as well as by a swimming discipline.
The aim of the graduate thesis is the analysis of the trend of the results development in the 50 meters and 100 meters disciplines of freestyle technique among Croatian swimmers at the Croatian Championship (hereinafter: PH) in the 50meter pool from 2006 to 2019. The sample of respondents in this survey includes swimmers from the Croatian National Championship Finals from 2006 to 2019. The sample of respondents for each state championship that took place is defined by a set. The variables used in the study were swimming disciplines: 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle in the 50m pool. The data was downloaded from the official Croatian Swimming Federation (HPS) website from 2006 to 2019.
The collected data were processed by a method, algorithm and trend analysis program with the Statistica 13 software package. Multiple regression analysis deals with the average final results and 1st places development trend.
The analysis of the development trend has not shown a moderately progressive increase in the freestyles technique results among the swimmers at the national championships. Insight into the processed results it is hard to predict the result in the future competition. The linear forecast of results, analyzed in this graduate thesis, can be obtained only in the average results in the discipline of 100 meters freestyle.
