Abstract (english) The aim of this study was to determine the effects of Nordic walking training and exercise with elastic props on the motor abilities of the elderly. The sample consisted of 39 elderly people, age (69.56 ± 5.20 years), height (159.55 ± 5.25 cm) and weight (73.10 ± 12.81 kg). Respondents practiced Nordic walking and exercise with elastic props. Subjects were measured twice, initially and final measuring. They conducted trainings at Jarun, Maksimir and Bundek. The period between the initial and final measuring lasted 10 weeks in which they conducted 3
training sessions per week with their trainers lasting 60-80 minutes. Subjects were tested in 7 tests. Based on the results obtained through the Student's t-test for dependent samples, we can conclude that Nordic walking and exercise training with elastic props makes statistically
significant progress in the tested motor skills. Balance was estimated in two tests (static balance - Berg and dynamic balance - Tug) and in both tests there was an improvement in the results (Berg: 1.15 ± 1.53 values, Tug: -0.39 ± 0.59 seconds) Explosive power was measured by the
medical throwing test (Bac: 4.51 ± 3.75 dm) in which we also achieved improved results. Relative repetitive strength was improved, squats were a test performed by subjects (increase of 5.21 ± 6.25 repetitions). Muscle endurance was measured in two tests (weight endurance
(Izd) and endurance in the arm support position on the rise (Iup), and in both tests there was an improvement (Izd LH: 18,41 ± 17,07 seconds, Izd RH: 17,10 ± 12.55 seconds, Iup: 52,72 ± 46,05 seconds). The grip strength of the hand was measured using the hand grip test (Hag) in
which the same improvement was achieved compared to the initial measuring (Hag LH: 0.82 ± 2.26 kg, Hag RH: 1.26 ± 1.92 kg ). Based on the result, we can conclude that Nordic walking and exercise with elastic props has a positive effect on improving motor skills and increasing
quality of life. It is also important to note that Nordic walking is one of the activities that is available to everyone and in which everyone can participate.
