Abstract (english) Trunk muscular endurance in tennis represents a significant factor, both at the professional and amateur levels. Considering the demands of this sport, its complexity, and demanding movement patterns, trunk injuries are among the most common injuries. Standardized tests for assessing specific muscular endurance are rarely used in assessing the physical fitness of tennis players. The aim of this research is to create a new test for assessing specific trunk muscular endurance and determine its metric characteristics. The study was conducted at the Ivan Ljubičić Tennis Academy in Veli Lošinj. The sample consisted of 12 tennis players with an average age of 16.75 ± 7.33 years, a height of 176.43 ± 16.59 cm, and a weight of 64.99 ± 20.35 kg. All participants were tested with two tests: one standard test for assessing trunk muscular endurance (sit-ups in 60 seconds) and one new test for assessing specific trunk muscular endurance (trunk rotations with a 1 kg medicine ball in 30 seconds). The results of this study indicate a lower level of reliability of the newly constructed test, but the same test has a high level of homogeneity, validity, and sensitivity. Further development of this test on more homogeneous samples of participants is suggested, but even the results of this study suggest the possibility of using this test to determine specific trunk muscular endurance, which ultimately can aid in planning and programming the training process.
