... More postupaka te razmatranje pravilne tehnike trčanja i preventivnih strategija u svrhu pružanja sveobuhvatnog pregleda različitih aspekata ovoga sindroma. Less
Abstract (english) Compartment syndrome of the lower leg is a pathological condition that occurs because of increased blood pressure within the fascial compartments of the lower leg, which can lead to muscle ischemia and nerve damage. In runners, compartment syndrome represents a significant challenge due to the frequency and potential severity of complications. The objectives of this thesis include investigating the pathophysiological aspects of lower leg compartment syndrome in runners, reviewing diagnostic
... More methods, analysing therapeutic procedures, and considering proper running techniques and preventive strategies to provide a comprehensive overview of various aspects of this syndrome. The thesis will thus describe the pathophysiology of lower leg compartment syndrome in runners, offering a thorough review of the anatomical and physiological aspects of this condition. The focus will be on understanding the mechanism of compartment syndrome development, various diagnostic methods, and therapeutic procedures. The difference between acute and chronic conditions will be explained, the syndrome will be related to other sports injuries, and strategies for its prevention will be considered. Less
