Abstract

U ovome će radu biti prikazani specifični postupci koje je potrebno primijeniti u radu s djecom s autizmom, kao i osnovne preporuke i smjernice za provedbu tjelesnog vježbanja s ovom populacijom djece. Naime, autizam je kompleksan i sveobuhvatan razvojni poremećaj te kao takav predstavlja veliki izazov za sve stručnjake i osobe koje se odluče baviti ovom problematikom. Prvenstveno je potrebno da svaki kineziolog koji radi s djecom s autizmom bude upoznat i educiran o specifičnim metodama rada te o smjernicama koje mu omogućuju provedbu procesa tjelesnog vježbanja s djecom ove populacije. Iznimno je važno spomenuti da djeca s autizmom zbog svojih poteškoća imaju puno veći rizik da postanu pretila i obole od velikog broja bolesti te je stoga važno da kineziolog zna odabrati i individualno prilagoditi tjelesne aktivnosti njihovim potrebama. Zbog niže razine motoričkih i funkcionalnih sposobnosti djeca s autizmom sklona su izbjegavati i brzo odustajati od tjelesnog vježbanja koje im često predstavlja prevelik izazov i stres. Stoga je izuzetno važno držati se smjernica koje omogućuju kvalitetan i uspješan rad s djecom s autizmom.
Prilagođene tjelesne aktivnosti svakako predstavljaju važan čimbenik zdravlja i kvalitete života kod svakog pojedinca pa tako i kod djece s autizmom. Pravilno dozirane i kvalitetno provedene prilagođene tjelesne aktivnosti ne samo da utječu na pravilan i skladan psiho-fizički razvoj djeteta s autizmom već povoljno utječu i na djetovu prilagodbu na različite životne situacije kao što su stjecanje prijatelja i kvalitetno provođenje slobodnog vremena. U radu sa djecom s autizmom trebao bi biti uključen multidisciplinarni tim stručnjaka koji bi se sastojao od kineziterapeuta, edukacijskog rehabilitatora, fizioterapeuta i liječnika koji bi svaki sa stajališta svoje struke pridonijeli poboljšanju zdravstvstvenog stanja djeteta. U kombinaciji sa medikamentoznom terapijom i edukacijsko-rehabilitacijskom podrškom prilagođena tjelesna aktivnost zasigurno bi trebala zauzimati važan dio života svakog djeteta s autizmom.

Abstract (english)

This paper will present specific methods that need to be applied in working with children with autism. Apart from that, it will provide the basic recommendations and guidelines for the implementation of physical exercise with this population of children. Autism is a complex and all-inclusive developmental disorder and, as such, represents a major challenge for all experts and people who choose to deal with the problem. First of all, every kinesiology expert who works with autistic children should be introduced to and educated about specific methods and guidelines that allow the implementation of physical exercise with this population of children. It is very important to note that children with autism are more likely to become obese and develop many diseases. For this reason, a kinesiology expert has to be able to choose and individually adapt physical exercise to their needs. Due to the lower level of motor and functional abilities, children with autism tend to avoid and quickly give up on physical exercise that they often perceive as a big challenge and stress. It is therefore very important to follow the guidelines that enable successful work with autistic children.
Adapted physical activity is an important factor for the health and life of each individual, as well as children with autism. Properly dosed and well implemented physical activity affects the harmonious psychological and physiological development of autistic children. In addition, it has a positive effect on child` s adaptation to different life situations, such as the acquisition of friends and spending quality free time. A multi-disciplinary team of experts should be included in working with autistic children. This team should consist of kinesiotherapists, educational rehabilitators, physiotherapists and doctors who would give their professional opinion and contribute to the improvement of the child` s health condition. In combination with medical therapy, educational and rehabilitation support, adapted physical therapy should certainly be an important part of every child with autism.
