Abstract

Glavni cilj ovog diplomskog rada bio je prezentirati infekcije u sportu, njihov značaj te
probleme koje donose sportašima. Opisano je kako imuni sustav čovjeka reagira na vježbanje
te kako razina intenziteta djeluje na organizam sportaša. Nadalje, objasniti koje su važnosti i
značajke mikroorganizama u svakodnevnom životu sportaša te značaj imunoprofilakse.
Pobliže objasniti ulogu upale gornjih dišnih putova u sportu te povezanost upale gornjih
dišnih putova i drugih infekcija sa sportom. Prezentirani su podaci iz nekoliko radova o
povezanosti sporta i infekcija.

Abstract (english)

The main goal of this thesis was to present the infections in sports, their significance, as well
as the issues they cause to athletes. It was described how human body, and immune system
reacts on diffrent tipes of workout intensity. Furthermore, to describe the importance and
characteristics of pathogen in athletes every day life as well as the importance of
imunoprofilaxia. The autor closely addresses the role of the upper respiratory tract infection
with sports, and explains the way upper respiratory tract infections relate to other infections in
sports. Data from several studies regarding the relation between infections and sports have
been presented in this thesis.
