Abstract

Izvođenje intenzivnih vježbi s ekscentričnim kontrakcijama kod netrenirane populacije ali i kod sportaša može dovesti do nastanka osjećaja boli, umora, otečenosti i ukočenosti u mišićima 24 do 48 sati nakon aktivnosti te posljedično i do negativnog učinka na motoričke sposobnosti i sportsku izvedbu. Stanje opisano ovim simptomima naziva se zakašnjela pojava mišićnog zamora, a može potrajati i do deset dana nakon vježbanja. U radu su opisane dosadašnje teorije o nastanku zakašnjele pojave mišićnog zamora: teorija mliječne kiseline, teorija mišićnog spazma, teorija oštećenja vezivnog i mišićnog tkiva, teorija priljeva enzima, teorija upale i kombinirana teorija. Cilj ovog rada je prikazati, objasniti i vrednovati teorije i mehanizme zakašnjele pojave mišićnog zamora te prikazati i objasniti najučinkovitije fizikalne i farmakološke metode u oporavku i ublažavanju simptoma ovog stanja.

Abstract (english)

Intense eccentric exercise in athletes and population unaccustomed to physical exercise may cause sensation of pain, muscle swelling and stiffness 24 to 48 hours after exercising followed by decrease in motor skills and performance. This condition and symptoms that can last up to ten days after exercising are known as delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). This thesis describes previous theories and mechanisms of DOMS; lactic acid theory, muscle spasm theory, connective and muscle tissue damage theory, enzyme influx theory, inflammation theory and „combined theory“. Main goal of this thesis is to preview, explain and validate theories and mechanisms of DOMS and to present and explain the most efficient physical and pharmacological methods in recovery and reducing the symptoms of DOMS.
