Abstract

Postizanje vrhunskih sportskih rezultata na kontinentalnim i svjetskim prvenstvima te olimpijskim igrama rezultat je dugoročnog planiranja treninga od najranije mladosti do kraja sportske karijere. Tijekom cijelog navedenog perioda trener mora pratiti i analizirati rezultate, specifičnosti sporta, sportske discipline te predviđati u kojem smjeru će se odrađena disciplina razvijati. Modernizacija tehnologije, infrastruktura sportskih borilišta, informatizacija i mediji određuju smjerove promjena i napredak, a samo oni sportaši koji su pripremljeni na sve navedene činjenice osvajaju medalje.

Abstract (english)

Achievement of excellent sports results in domestic and world competitions and the Olympic Games is the outcome of long-term training plan since athlete’s early youth and up to the end of his/her sports career. During that period a coach must collect and analyze results, study special features of the sport and its disciplines, and predict the way in which a given discipline would develop. The modernization of technology, sports venue infrastructure, informatization and the media all determine the directions of changes and progress. Only the athletes prepared to face all these challenges win the medals.
